Locals and tourists in Cancún enjoyed the 7th edition of the Sunset Boat Parade on December 16th, when more than 30 boats of different sizes adorned with Christmas decorations participated and cruised Nichupté Lagoon to the rhythm of Jazz. “Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences continues this Cancún Christmas tradition,” said Annie Arroyo, Branding and Communication Director of Sunset World & Vacation Experiences.
The party began with live Jazz music at Sunset Admiral Yacht Club & Marina and the boats departed at sunset for the cruise on Nichupté Lagoon and Sigfrido Canal. The public could watch the parade from Jardín del Arte in the Hotel Zone, where there was also a pop-up market. Manos Mágicas, a group of artisans from the area, participated for the 4th year in a row.
“Cancunenses (locals) welcome the happiness, joy, love and peace of the Christmas season with the Sunset Boat Parade. In addition we like to think that this event is the “posada” or Christmas party for locals,” said Annie Arroyo. “Our objective is to make this event a family tradition as well as attractive to tourists who visit in December,” she added.
The Sunset Boat Parade is an annual party in which people and businesses decorate boats and participate in a contest at no cost. This year’s sponsors included Mezcal Montelobos, Grupo Regio, ITM Desarrolladores, Vinoteca and Cervecería Cancún. Sunset World Resorts closes 2017 with high occupancy in its resorts and plans to remodel all properties while continuing the excellent service that the group has given to Members and guests for 25 years.
