With the growing interest in the Mayan 2012 prophecies in mind, Sunset World opened the Photographic Exhibition of the First Mayan–Tibetan Cultural Encounter in Kukulcan Plaza and announced a second edition of this meeting where the present and future of humanity will be discussed and celebrated through bicultural knowledge and the wisdom of these ancient civilizations.
During the opening of this exhibition, and in the presence of special guests and the general public, the General Director of the tour group, German Fayad, announced that Hacienda Tres Ríos will host the Second Edition of the Mayan-Tibetan Cultural Encounter September 11-16, 2012. Objectives include the analysis of different interpretations of the Mayan calendar cycles.
There is no admission fee for the photo exhibition which is open to the public and consists of 24 photographs of the most emotional moments of the first bicultural meeting.
The goal is to show the meeting of two cultures that share deep values about life, harmony and spiritual peace through photos. Joining this event will strengthen the knowledge and spiritual welfare of both tourists and residents of Cancun.
The exhibition will run for five months and will be displayed in malls, universities and Sunset World hotels (Sunset Royal, Sunset Lagoon and Ocean Spa), culminating in Hacienda Tres Rios with the opening of the second meeting. The photo exhibition will remain in Kukulcan Plaza until 2 May.
During the first Mayan-Tibetan Cultural Encounter the monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery created a Green Tara Mandala and led a Shamata Meditation to reduce negative emotions. The Mayan culture was represented by Maya Art Productions, which held the Fire and Cenote Ceremonies as well as healings and cleansings.
The second edition of the meeting will include cultural, spiritual and academic activites including Mayan ceremonies, the creation of the Mandala, dancing, Mayan Temazcal, cleansings, healings, and lectures. All events will be held in ecotourism resort Hacienda Tres Rios and its nature park.Tags: Cancun, cultural encounter, kukulkan plaza, Mayan-Tibetan, Ocean Spa, photographic Exhibition, Sunset Lagoon, Sunset Royal
