Sunset World and Sian Ka’an will host a party at the Sunset Royal Hotel to commemorate the XXV Anniversary of Amigos de Sian Ka’an with 350 special guests and the participation of Mexican singer Nicho Hinojosa.
Cancun, Q. Roo, Mexico – To commemorate the XXV Anniversary of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, this Thursday, May 12th, Sunset World and Amigos de Sian Ka’an will host a special celebration at the Sunset Royal Hotel with 350 special guests and the participation of Mexican singer Nicho Hinojosa.
The event will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Moonlight Theater of the resort. Sunset Royal Hotel will host a cocktail party and provide lodging for the special guests. The party will feature Mexican singer Nicho Hinojosa as well as DJ Xochitl Lujan and performer Alan Vazquez, who will donate a painting to be sold. The profits will be donated to the reserve. The event will also feature an exhibit with paintings from the artist and handcrafts made by the indigenous Mayas that live in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere.
During the event, awards will be given to organizations and participants who have helped in the conservation of the biosphere these last 25 years.
The morning of the celebration, there will be a colloquium held at Cancun Center in Cancun’s hotel zone. The colloquium is titled “Sian Ka’an, an exemplary reserve for an exemplary future: Analysis and perspective on conservation for the next 25 years.” The colloquium gathers the key players who have managed the consolidation of the reserve to discuss the success and challenges encountered thus far as well as to create a strategic vision for the next 25 years.
During the colloquium, the invited speakers will discuss subjects such as the effects of climate change and nature conservation. The colloquium will broadcast live through Sunset World’s social media networks.
